GLOBAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTION
A leading global financial institution has a need to be able to monitor availability, uptime, and performance characteristics of all infrastructure, especially the mission critical servers which houses the customer facing applications. When VMWare launched version 5.1 the LFI upgraded many servers to the new release and only then did they find the “upgrade” came without the SNMP agent as part of its functionality.
Caught flat footed, they needed the ability to monitor VM’s and ESX without relying on SNMP. Without the ability to monitor certain functions security performance, compliance, and user experience were unmeasurable and unpredictable.
